CARERS, FOSTER CARERS AND KINSHIP CARERS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL ASSISTANCE IN 2009 to alleviate pressures resulting from the rising cost of living. This program is provided with assistance from the ACT Government.

PROVISION OF SUPPORT will be through the local ACT Community Services (listed below) and through Carers ACT, Anglicare – CYCLOPS, the Mental Health Foundation and TANDEM Respite.

ASSISTANCE may include: petrol vouchers, phone cards, taxi vouchers, bus tickets, and domestic cleaning services (not including personal care services). Assistance may also include support to purchase energy/water efficient whitegoods required for the caring role e.g. washing machine.
