ActewAGL CONTACT Canberra 2008
ActewAGL CONTACT Canberra - 2008, was held in Civic on Sunday, 10th February along City Walk from Petrie Plaza to Akuna Street, as an event of the National Multicultural Festival.

It was a spectacular day in Canberra as the city came to life with CONTACT Canberra 2008 . The Citizens Advice Bureau hosted the event which showcased over 90 of Canberra's community organisations and displayed a myriad of cultural entertainment over five hours on two stages.

The stalls participating in CONTACT Canberra were drawn from the variety of  community, recreational, artistic, welfare, social and political organisations, all of whom promoted their activities and displayed just what an exciting and involved city Canberra is to live in.

The National Multicultural Festival celebrates our differences in cultures through lively, diverse entertainment and an indulgence of the senses. As part of the Festival, the ActewAGL CONTACT Canberra event also identifies our similarities, how we support each other through our community and volunteer organisations and how people of all cultures contribute to the ordinary, day-to-day needs of Canberrans. It’s about inclusion and valuing the interests and contributions of everyone in our city. The information stall-holders and community groups who perform on stage, joyfully give their time and talent free on the day so that attendees can see who and what makes up a large part of our community’s support base.
