The Citizens Advice Bureau of the ACT is responsible for the administration of the Access City Hotline. The Access City Hotline helps people to remove physical and sensory barriers to access in the ACT. The Hotline provides a comprehensive referral service for solving or easing access problems.
Belinda Gunn, the Access City Project Officer, is available to assist anyone who has encountered problems getting in or around Canberra’s environments; negotiating footpaths, roadways, kerbed areas; reading or understanding signs or directions.
The Citizens Advice Bureau maintains the largest, most accurate, up-to-date database of community organisations in the A.C.T region and we now complement our existing services with ACT Communities Online.
ACT Communities Online is an online service that encourages community groups to list information about their organisation and upcoming events. This keeps the Canberra community informed about what's happening around town and when, where and why it's happening! ACT Communities Online - where you can stay in the loop, get involved with community organisations and engage in the many events and activities happening in the ACT and surrounding region.
ACTEWAGL CONTACT Canberra Citizens Advice Bureau regularly hosts ACTEWAGL's CONTACT Canberra in association with the Canberra Multicultural festival.
The event gives local community organizations the opportunity to showcase their roles and activities in Canberra. A broad spectrum of the Canberra Community is represented, including artistic, recreational, political, social and welfare groups as well as community-minded businesses.
