About CAB

Our mission

The Citizens Advice Bureau of the ACT has been serving the Canberra community for 30 years, building on the rich heritage of Citizens Advice Bureaus going back to 1939.

We believe that community services and facilities are only as effective as people's access to them and therefore it is essential that people are made aware of their options, rights and responsibilities when needing to access the services available. We also believe it is essential that people are not penalised through an inability to locate services, express their needs or advocate on their own behalf.

The Citizens Advice Bureau is therefore committed to providing up to date information, referral & support to all ACT residents. By educating people about their options, rights and responsibilities we can enhance their access to community resources & empower them to make informed decisions about their own life situations.
